Pam Tillis is an American country music singer and songwriter born on July 24, 1957, in Plant City, Florida. She is the daughter of country music singer Mel Tillis. Pam Tillis began her musical career in the early 1980s, writing and singing backup for various artists. She eventually signed with Warner Bros. Records and released her debut album "Put Yourself in My Place" in 1991. The album produced several hit singles, including "Don't Tell Me What to Do" and "Maybe It Was Memphis."
Before the car accident, Pam Tillis had established herself as a successful country music artist, with several chart-topping singles and albums to her credit. She was also known for her powerful singing voice and her ability to blend traditional country music with contemporary sounds.
